The Healthy Florida Foundation was conceived by a diverse
working group of Florida organizations that came together
to explore ways that would enable business, health, and
community leaders to contribute to finding long-term solutions
that address the fundamental challenges of the health
care delivery system in the State of Florida - and throughout
the nation. A series of policy retreats resulted is a set of 14 recommendations that achieved the greatest consensus, and that earned the highest ratio of being effective and attainable.
In addition to focusing on these recommendations, the foundation will actively seek out other Florida health policy initiatives such as the Center for Practical Health Reform, the Florida Chamber of Commerce's Let's Get Florida Covered, the Governor's Task Force on Access to Affordable Health Insurance and Task Force on Obesity, Covering Florida and others. Healthy Florida Foundation will also help serve as a clearinghouse for information about health policy activities in the state.
